The vehicle itself will be a food truck converted into a usable computing space. This conversion project will be built in cooperation with vocational programs offered by Duval County schools so that students can work on the project’s construction. The interior kitchen equipment will be removed and replaced with desks, chairs and outlets for desktop computers. The service window will be expanded in a manner providing an exterior access point for students. This fold-out will be a “laptop bar” so that users can walk up to the MMC and quickly use its services. Food trucks already have a built in power source for running equipment and there is the option to power the vehicle on sustainable bio-diesel or adding solar panels for free energy to power the MMC’s computers.
